Many thanks to Mr. Mengu Gungor for taking such fantastic pics. Plus we must take our hats off to Susan Wachowski and her entire crew for heading up such well run miniatures events. They put in some very loooong days before, during and after the show for the benefit of existing and new miniature enthusiasts that come to Gen Con. We all owe them a HUGE thanks!

Wow, Dark Sword Miniatures had an outstanding showing this year at the Gen Con Miniatures Awards. Some of the top talent in the entire world painted up Dark Sword figs as their entries into this years competition. It was a very surreal experience to wander up to the miniatures area at 1:30 am late Friday night and see a whole slew of top-notch paintjobs on our miniatures. It was even cooler to see that two of the figs took top honors at the show. So what does one do after this? Go sit down at a table with Art and Greg to get a Warmachine demo until 3:00 am of course! How I knew those two would be in the hall at that hour still mystifies me, but the husbands of top miniature painters typically head to the miniature gaming hall rather than retire to stuffy quarters to sip brandy and smoke cigars. And so it was!

It was a tough job the next morning to pick the Best In Show winner for Dark Sword Miniatures. But with the help of the sunlight pouring into the painting area, Jamie from Harbinger and the trusty Gold marker which of course is used to mark the marked which is signified by the marker - hence the fact that it is marked because of the marker (did ya follow that?), we went with the Good King Ploogak as the overall Dark Sword champion for 2005 and the receiver of the prestigious Gold Plated Marker, the prizes, adoration, and fame for all time. Rumor has it a very cool trophy is also in the works...in addition to the gold marker which....uh....(oh not again with the bad voices in our heads!)...well you get the point...

So who is going to win the 2006 Award for Best Dark Sword Mini?? We are only 11 short months away folks, so ya better get painting as 2005 will be a tough class to top indeed!
