Gen Con 2006 Booth Pictures

Every year at Gen Con Indy we share an island booth with Elmore Productions.

Folks in the Booth and Friends at the Convention

Yours Truly with Mr. Larry Elmore.

Mr. Dave Summers and myself hamming it up for the camera. Dave Summers does up all those kick-ass Dragons you see on our site. He also does excellent work for other companies in the biz...

Rhonda Bender and myself. Rhonda took 3rd place for the Dark Sword Manufacturer Award this year in the Gen Con Indy Painting Competition with a most excellent Dennis Mize Tribute Piece.

A couple of my hometown buddies from a group of friends that attend the Con.

The Slideman getting beat up by Eric and Brian. Slider helps tend to the booth.

Steph, Larry and Andrea from our booth. Once again, Larry with the ladies...

Hanging out with some of my favorite painting ladies - Amy Brehm, Anne Foerster and Susan Wachowski.

A sneak peak at 10 new minis we will have posted on our site very soon...

Gen Con 2006 - Around the Convention Pictures

Kari Byron from the Myth Busters TV show (I did not take the pic). This is a funny story. Let me preface this with a statement - I do not reall watch a whole lot of TV. So with that being said, I get called to our booth by a frantic Larry Elmore (as I was checking out the con and away from the booth) and this young lady was there going crazy over our miniatures. I did not know who she was, so when Larry introduced me to her and her agent, I was just kind of like - "Nice to meet you" and all confused on why I got called back to the booth just to meet a lady who liked out minis - as lots of ladies like our minis. Well it turns out Larry knows her agent and watches her TV show. She was over saying hi to Larry and saw our line of miniatures in the display cases. She does some sculpting on her own in a much larger scale so she could not believe the work that Tom Meier, Dennis Mize and Dave Summers did on our miniatures in true-scale without any down-sizing. She was a really nice lady. She got called away to the autograph section of the show so she never did get any Dark Sword minis. We all got a good laugh out of this later as Larry and one other person from the booth were there the whole time during this talk and could not believe I did not know her from the show. So they were going ga-ga over her and I was just like "ok, it was nice meeting you - have a fun Con". Larry is a huge fan of her TV show. It was fun to see Larry going FanBoy on her as it is usually the other way around with people going FanBoy on him.

Art, myself, Larry Elmore and Steph at the Aces of Painting Competition

Myself, Marike, Amy and of course the man himself - Mr. Larry Elmore!

Amy and Marike have taken the Dark Sword Best Of Show Award these past three years at the Gen Con Indy Painting Competition. These two young ladies are tough to top!

Amy Brehm - 2004 & 2006
Marike Reimer - 2005

FYI - We were all looking in different directions as there were 4-5 different people snapping pics. The press, the tabloids, local news stations, CNN, documentry crews - it never really ends when you paint Dark Sword minis at competitions. The public cannot get enough of it really. Well, we have our 15 minutes every year. I wonder if anyone got a pic of us all looking in the same direction? Larry and I just felt like big pieces of man candy - being used as window dressing for these two dames. JUST KIDDING! We loved it...

Amy Brehm - Dark Sword Best In Show Winner - 2004 & 2006
Amy Brehm - www.AmyPaintsminis.com
Yep - Amy has had her way with the Dark Sword Best in Show Award twice now. And the year she does not enter it - Marike did and took overall Gen Con Indy Best in Show with the good King Ploogak. Amy and I were talking World of Warcraft PVP tactics right here. She of course is a "WOW end-gamer" and I am just a simple newbie that plays with Dave Summers and his wife about 2-3 hours per week.

Marike Reimer - Dark Sword Best In Show Winner - 2005
Marike rocked the Gen Con Indy painting competition last year with the good King Ploogak and this year with a jaw-dropping Crocodile Games Diorama. She is one heck of a painter.
