4 DVD Tutorial Set – With well over 13 Hours of Instruction!
As you all know, I have been a HUGE fan of any sort of painting tutorial sites or instruction I can get my hands on. And then over the past few years, a couple different DVD painting tutorials came out and I was over the moon. I then kept getting asked if Dark Sword will ever do their own DVD with our own miniatures and some of the painters we work with. It was indeed something I had been thinking about and I do have the extreme privilege to collaborate with some amazing miniature painters so we decided to put our money where our mouth is and film/produce a very comprehensive DVD set on miniature painting with Jen Haley and Anne Foerster. Marike Reimer was supposed to be part of that first DVD set as well but could not make the filming dates due to other commitments. So we decided to simply shoot another DVD set with just Marike getting her painting groove on.
This is a great follow-up to the Jen and Anne DVD set as Marike dives right into the middle of the pool and gets down to slinging paint and guiding you through her approaches without spending a good deal of time on the basics of putting a mini together and priming it like we covered off on in the first DVD set.
Marike Reimer is one of the most talented painters in the world today as you can see from a sampling of her works in the images below. She has won Golden Demon Awards, taken Best in Show Privateer Press awards, Best in Show Gen Con Awards, Best in Show Salute Awards, and she also won Best in Show (Twice!) for the CMON Crystal Brush Award where the best painters in the world gather to compete for a $10,000 cash first place prize.
Please note – this is a DVD set that will take you all the way from above a basic level of painting skill up to an advanced skill level. If you are new to this great hobby or want to make sure you have the proper foundational building blocks/knowledge in place, I would strongly recommend our Masterworks Miniature Painting with Jen Haley and Anne Foerster 3 DVD set (over 10 hours of instruction) to start things off.
This is a jam-packed 4 DVD Set with over 13 hours of instruction! In addition, we have some fun slideshows and inspirational galleries on the DVD for your viewing pleasure. And a blooper reel to boot. We learned a great deal with our first DVD set and have improved the overall production values even more on this new DVD set with Marike Reimer.
Continue to build upon your miniature painting techniques under the guidance of multi-award winning miniature painting Marike Reimer. Marike will guide you from module to module on the eye catching techniques she is famous for.

This comprehensive 4 DVD set will bring you up to speed on how to achieve impressive results and further enhance your miniature painting skills. Initial Testimonials From The Gen Con Indy 2012 Pre-Release Event and Dark Sword Site Release
…Highly recommended, I picked this up at GenCon 2012 and have been learning something consistently from each session. Marike gives you an easy explanation of a technique filled with the background experience times teaches a developing painter. If you have 1-2 years of experience with painting minis, this will help you explore if there is a better painter in you trying to get out.
…Just thought I’d pass along initial impressions – she’s rockin’ my world. 🙂
…This was definitely worth the money spent. I purchased it at GenCon.
…Picked it up already, can’t recommend it highly enough for anyone that might be on the fance about it.
…I’ve spent most of today watching these videos. Marike is wonderfully talented and gives detailed explanations and demonstrations of a wide variety of techniques. I highly recommend this set of DVDs to any hobby painters.

(Please note – he is referring to the Dark Sword Masterworks Miniature Painting with Jen Haley and Anne Foerster 3 DVD set which you can read about here).
…I watched the first 3 hours of the new Marike DVD last night and I am so fired up to paint, I cannot contain it.
(Please note – This came from a person during the Gen Con show who came by the Dark Sword booth the day after his DVD purchase to load up on more Reaper Master Series paints to paint that night after the hall closed. It gave me a big ear to ear smile.)
Ohh no, not another video, you guys are cruel. I’m such a sucker for videos and Marike is a real inspiration, I don’t know how she does it but her work keeps getting better year after year.
Looks like an amazing DVD and Jess has nothing but awesome to say about it, so now I have to get one. But that was your evil master plan all along, wasn’t it? 😉
I have watched many other painting videos, and I must say that the Anne/Jen video is my favorite so far. I haven’t made it all the way through the Marike series, but it is shaping up to be just as wonderful.
