Dark Sword purchased the rights/molds and sculpts to three fantastic miniatures from the DragonBlood Miniatures Range (one of which was never released) as Eric Louchard the founder decided to sell off the business. This particular miniature is the amazing Hunter by Jeff Grace. This is a very large Ceratosaur dinosaur being used as a mount for a Draconid Warrior. I remember seeing this piece on The Miniatures Page and having my jaw drop. This was my first clue that Jeff Grace was back in the sculpting market after his time at Wiz Kids. Needless to say, many years later, Jeff Grace is a Dark Sword sculptor. Please note, the original DragonBlood Release had the larger base cast in resin. Eric told me that he thought it would be cool to release it in pewter as it would be much more sturdy. So we went ahead and did just that. So for the first time, you can get him in all pewter with the large display base you see below.
Quote from Eric Louchard: “Dark Sword Miniatures has been a producer of top quality miniatures for many years now and I am pleased that they will be continuing to produce two of the most popular figures from Dragonblood Miniatures after its closure, the “The Hunter” and the “Red Draconid Lord”. These models were sculpted by Jeff Grace and fit in perfectly with the existing Dark Sword line and would also make a great addition to a Dragonblood collection. I must thank Jim at Dark Sword for his continued patronage of the miniatures art form and for keeping these two models alive.”
There are another two painted versions of this amazing piece from Mr. Luchard down below. Check them out…
