Tony DiTerlizzi created a fun back story for this miniature in case you wanted to use it as an NPC (Non Player Character) in one of your games or help build up the world you are creating with your miniatures.

There are always stupid human intruders, with their bright lights, crashing around the den of the Red Tooth tribe. Yup keeps guard and sounds the alarm as soon as those intruders enter. No one—not even an ugly Halfling hidden by a cloak—gets past Yup.
