Okay, first off – scroll down the page to the green pictures. Take it all in and then come back up to the painted pictures from the talented brush of Jen Haley to snap things into perspective. This is indeed 54mm scale folks and this might just be the longest Tom Meier has ever worked on a single miniature in his entire career. This is right around 160 hours of sculpting time (that is 40 hours per week for 4 weeks solid if he did it in a straight shot – which he did not of course). This was done as a special surprise gift to George R.R. Martin. George loves 54mm miniatures and this was done on the super secret down low. He still does not know it exists (even as I type this). He will know soon enough…. The detail on this piece is beyond anything I have ever seen in my life. The back of his cape is made up of “Forget Me Not” flowers sewn together into the fabric. Tom sculpted them all individually…you can sit and look at all the tiny details for long periods of time (I have) and find new stuff when you look at it again. This piece is amazing beyond belief and something just to own for the pure art of it all.
