I just wanted to say, I absolutely love your miniatures. I plan on trying to order exclusively from your site from now on. I received one of your miniatures in a lot that I purchased from ebay and am just amazed at the difference in detail, especially the facial features. For those of us who still want the old school more realistic fantasy figures, without the cartoonish looking features and ridiculously large hands, feet, and weapons, your site is wonderful.

Joey the Thug – Sheltie Rogue – DSM8107
Sculpted by Dave Summers
This is the infamous Joey the Thug, which is a real life dog
of famed author Margaret Weis. He is quite famous in the fly ball
competitive leagues in which he earned his name Joey the Thug. From the
stories Margaret tells, he takes his fly ball competitions very seriously
and can be quite the head game player with the other dogs he is competing
against. Margaret saw an anthropomorphic miniature we did of Jeff Easley’s
pug and she said it would be really cool if Joey had a miniature created to
immortalize him in pewter. So we got on the case as I grew up reading the
Dragonlance Chronicles so this was the least I could do to honor such a
great author that was so important to me growing up and getting into reading
novels in the early to mid 1980’s. She is a such a nice lady to talk to in
person – so down to earth and funny to chat with. And she always has great
recommendations on amazing TV series and movies to check out as well. Way
down below on this page you can see a picture we took at Gen Con 2016 where
the artist Viking Myke and myself presented Margaret with the original
artwork of Joey the Thug that we created to make this miniature from and
then another picture from Gen Con 2017 where I gave her the first production
copy of him in pewter. YEAH, this is not going to make Joey more cocky..no,
not at all..
